Production Lead Operator/12 hour shifts Saturday, Sunday, and 1 Weekday 6pm - 6am

Primary Responsibilities and Duties

  • Expedites production of priority jobs to provide on time delivery for customers.
  • Affords assistance in identifying and recommending procedures for scrap reduction.
  • Reviews completed work orders for accuracy (i.e. start up, shutdown time, material usage, part counts, etc.) and resolves inaccuracies.
  • Utilizes ERP system (SAP preferred) to review, transact and monitor workflow and achievement of production goals.
  • Covers employee assignments and breaks for work area personnel.
  • Performs duties within technical expertise such as setting up, tearing down or equipment operation, testing and or inspection of products.
  • Ensures any operator daily check lists and tasks are completed.
  • Works directly with planning, materials, quality teams to resolve manufacturing/delivery issues.
  • Works directly with Engineering to identify and resolve process issues, develop new products and or processes, and be involved with improvement activities.
  • Provides recognition for employees.
  • Affords assistance and conducts employee training for effective performance.
  • Affords assistance and ensures proper cross training is reviewed and updated accordingly.
  • Affords assistance and addresses performance issues with employees.
  • Adheres to Company policies and procedures.
  • Provides input to Production Manager/Supervisor with employee performance reviews and corrective actions.
  • Affords assistance and coordinates effective delegation of work assignments and training.
  • Affords assistance and conducts shift meetings and coordinates mandatory training.
  • Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, On Time Delivery, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product/system quality.
  • Participates actively in continuous improvement activities such as 6s, Kaizen events, etc.
  • Ensures quality parts are produced for customers.
  • Affords assistance and investigates and evaluates quality defects as assigned and in determining appropriate actions to be taken.
  • Affords assistance and recommends and implements solutions to improve quality of products.
  • Responsible for creating and updating SOP documents.
  • Promotes and implements use of continuous improvement tools to eliminate non-value activities.
  • Ensures safety of employees and visitors within company.
  • Maintains visual ability to detect quality defects.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High school diploma and 5 years of work-related experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Experience providing work direction to other associates.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and perform math computations and computer data entry.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., climb a ladder up to 15 ft. and walk and stand during entire shift.
  • Good visual ability to detect quality defects.
  • Works in a manufacturing environment.

  • Pay range is commensurate with experience; Pay range is $27-$35 depending on experience.
