Production Lead

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Assign all associates to work rotations, machines, and daily tasks.
• Communicate and execute work assignments to meet set expectations by the department and customer requirements.
• Supervise employees during shift to ensure they are following GMP and Safety Regulations.
• Aid the Supervisor with planning work schedules and product runs.
• Train and hold associates accountable for departments, QA, Safety and Company processes and procedures.
• Complete the required paperwork for the department and ensure all paperwork submitted by associates is complete and accurate.
• Communicate with leadership, QA department and USDA.
• Handle any minor tasks related to your role.
• Ensure excellent attendance and punctuality for an hourly role.
• Motivate team members to meet production goals.
• Examine completed work (in-process and finished goods) to detect defects and verify conformance specifications.
• Collaborate with machine operators, supervisors, and management to ensure progress and time frame for orders.
• Report any issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Communicate changeovers with the Quality department and Production team to make sure a third-party verification has taken place.
• Label changeovers.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a cold storage environment.
• Machine operator experience is desired.
• Experience working in a team environment.
• Ability to meet daily deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven satisfactory attendance.
• Flexibility with work schedule and job duties in a changing work environment.
• Good communication skills (read, write, speak).
• Proven legible writing skills.
• High school diploma/GED.

Working Conditions

• Largely a static role with standing; however, the ability to perform repetitive bending and standing up is also required.
• The ability to lift 10-35 lbs. repetitively and up to 45 lbs. occasionally.
• The ability to push/pull up to 250 lbs. on rollers occasionally.
• Must be able to withstand cold temperatures for 8-12 hours a day.
• The role operates in a wet and cold/refrigerated environment (around 35 degrees F).
• This role operates within a manufacturing, warehousing, and production type facility.
• Must be able to work with allergenic food ingredients if coming in direct contact.
