Production Lead

Responsibilities

  • Safeguard a culture where employees address unsafe conditions, unsafe behaviors, and participate in and suggest improvements.
  • Identify safety gaps and initiate corrective actions.
  • Strictly adhere to plant safety, housekeeping, and 5S efforts.
  • Create a work environment where risks are managed with urgency.
  • Support and ensure compliance and execution of company vision.
  • Perform cell walk at shift exchange with previous WCC.
  • Review machine downtime to optimize labor assignments.
  • Audit machine/cell readiness for production.
  • Approve start-up of production.
  • Inspect one shot/operator/day (with them) and independently to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Perform Gemba walks every 2 hours and document results on MDI.
  • Ensure Operator AMs are being completed.
  • Lead, support, and develop operator skill level in work cell for better performance.
  • Ensure compliance with plant initiatives such as ISO, TPM, and GMP.
  • Manage scrap waste stream and drive reduction within the cell.
  • Assist with machine breakdowns and escalate to support groups.
  • Investigate production anomalies (pulls, DT, Red Screen, HrxHr, Labor variance).
  • Communicate/escalate operational issues with shift supervisor.

  • Ability to present information in one-on-one situations, to other supervisors, and in small group settings to employees of his/her department.
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Understanding of rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply knowledge to solve problems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Associates degree or relevant experience.
  • Previous experience supervising employees within a manufacturing, military, or industrial environment.
