About the Role

The Lead Person supports the Folding Gluer area and other plant operations, providing direction for day-to-day activities to ensure efficient and effective production. This role involves coaching employees, improving productivity, and serving as a liaison between shifts and departments.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate commitment to safety and ensure all employees follow company safety policies.
  • Monitor work areas to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Provide daily coaching and feedback to department employees.
  • Increase productivity to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with other leaders on manufacturing and quality decisions.
  • Assign work and monitor production orders as they arrive.
  • Manage schedules, rush orders, hot lists, call-ins, and quality response forms.
  • Coordinate overtime postings and schedules.
  • Serve as a communication liaison with the 2nd shift Area Manager and 3rd Shift Supervisor.
  • Address quality concerns with quality personnel or Customer Service.
  • Make decisions related to production and quality.
  • Schedule production and monitor orders to meet efficiency goals and customer commitments.
  • Participate in daily scheduling meetings to discuss priorities and rush orders.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and productivity opportunities.
  • Enhance internal and external department communication.
  • Participate in monthly department meetings and other meetings as needed.
  • Provide backup for ECATS responsibilities and resolve payroll issues.
  • Assist the Department Area Manager with weekly/daily manning, overtime, and quality complaints.
  • Provide input on employee disciplinary issues and performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
  • Actively participate in lean manufacturing initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to work on a rotating shift if required.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a production environment with moving equipment and people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of ERP systems.

Schedule

10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Sunday through Thursday.
