Production Lead- 3rd Shift

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages and oversees all shift operations to enhance safety, personnel engagement, cost reduction, productivity, quality of the product, and equipment maintenance.
• Ensures a safe work environment and availability of PPE for all team members.
• Trains new and transferred employees and makes recommendations for cross-training.
• Makes recommendations to management on employees who have demonstrated aptitude for cross-training.
• Communicates respectfully and focuses on safety, conducting all communication with team members.
• Solves personnel issues and supports coaching and development for achieving company targets.
• Communicates product quality and productivity performance to team members for self-correction during shifts.
• Supports Human Resources and Management on situations requiring corrective action.
• Ensures accuracy of hourly/daily production reporting and achievement of daily product quality and production goals.
• Works with maintenance to resolve issues affecting the production schedule.
• Communicates resource issues to Human Resources and Management for a smooth shift transition.
• Ensures completion of daily job orders, employee assignments, and time-off requests.
• Maintains a “visual workplace” using production boards, equipment status boards, etc., and addresses off-schedule situations immediately.
• Communicates opportunities for improvement to Engineering and/or Management.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven people management skills and ability to develop and maintain a team.
• Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills including ERP, Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, Excel.
• A technical background in injection molding, and/or high-speed assembly is preferred.
• A Lean or Six Sigma qualification is preferred.
