Production Lead - 2nd Shift - 4pm to 12:30am

About the Role

The Production Lead produces product while meeting or exceeding established standards through assembly operations, including complex machinery. This role focuses on mentoring and developing associates to meet production goals with an emphasis on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. The Production Lead also assists in continuous improvement, training, auditing, and becoming an expert in fabrication processes.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and develop associates.
• Assist in training and development, including completing new hire orientation and ISO training forms.
• Support and recommend cross-training needs.
• Identify and recommend ways to eliminate waste to supervisors or operations managers.
• Facilitate three-way communication as needed.
• Actively participate in committees and continuous improvement brainstorming.
• Support the quality mission, near-miss reporting, and other company programs.
• Supervise and ensure the safety and quality of the shift in accordance with company policies.
• Accurately produce quality products using machines, including performing preventative and corrective maintenance as qualified.
• Assemble finished products using sealing equipment, band saws, and other operations.
• Pack finished goods and operate compactors.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous manufacturing or machine operating experience.
• Work cell environment experience.
• 1-2 years of experience as a lead or in a developing role to become a lead.
• ERP/MRP experience or skillset.
• Adept communication skills.
• Ability to read a ruler within 1/16 inch accurately.
• Knowledge of using a calculator and basic math skills, including calculating linear/square footage and working with fractions.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, kneel, and climb as needed.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs with or without material handling equipment.
• Climb up to eight feet on occasion.
• Ability to communicate clearly with other associates and contract labor.

Pay

$18 to $20 hourly.

Schedule

4:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Friday.
