Production l-Flock Service Rector Road
Responsibilities
- cleaning of barns and equipment
- pest management, maintenance
- proper running of feed and water lines
- collection and processing of manure within the barn environment
- monitor and manage activities impacting bird welfare
- perform daily/weekly activities for the role at an intermediate level
- other duties as assigned
Requirements
- at least 18 years of age
- flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays
- proficient understanding of animal welfare and reporting incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of biosecurity
- proficient verbal and written communication skills
- ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods on concrete floors
- ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25 lbs continuously
- working in an environment with live animals producing a dusty environment
- exposure to outside elements and temperatures throughout the shift
Qualifications
Proficient understanding of bird welfare and behavior – piling, mortality, illness, etc.
Able to identify issues surrounding bird health – poor nutrition, illness and respond appropriately when necessary
Proficient in equipment maintenance and repair
Maintain pest management devices around the barn
Monitor and replenish pest management devices around the barn
Perform daily/weekly activities for the role at an intermediate level
Must be able to remain standing and/or walking for extended periods of time on concrete floors
The ability to stoop, bend, climb, and lift at least 25 lbs continuously throughout the day
Working in an environment with live animals which produces a dusty environment
Exposure to outside elements and temperatures throughout the shift. House temperatures vary and can be hot and humid
