Production Ironer Operator

About the role

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility, handling merchandise safely, expeditiously, and accurately into and out of the laundry facility.

Responsibilities

• Stage and feed merchandise (towels, napkins, table cloths, aprons, etc.) on the ironer properly to reduce wrinkling and tangling.
• Receive and fold merchandise from the ironer.
• Identify and segregate merchandise that does not meet quality standards (rips, tears, holes, stains).
• Accurately verify merchandise quantity and bundle by type, placing bundles in correct storage carts.
• Maneuver full and empty carts, including pushing carts weighing approximately 300 lb.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment and observe best practices in all production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to understand all required training, written, and verbal instructions.
• Working knowledge of basic math skills.
• Good verbal and/or written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule.

Working Environment and Safety Requirements

• Warehouse setting with exposure to outside weather, extreme heat and cold, dust, and noise.
• Repetitive motions throughout the shift.
• Physical demands include bending, reaching, pulling, twisting, lifting, standing, and walking for long periods.
• Use of hands for grasping and other manipulations.

Schedule

Work is based on a shift schedule and may include weekends; overtime is required as needed.

Education

High school degree or equivalent preferred.
