About the Role
Carolina Herrera’s internship program is designed to engage talented students and develop future leaders in fashion. This cross-departmental opportunity at a small, globally recognized brand provides hands-on experience, allowing interns to work with nearly every department and gain practical skills beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Make swatches and apply them to cut tickets for contractors to follow.
- Prepare samples for upcoming fittings (steaming, measuring as needed).
- Shadow the Production Department, focusing on creating trim packages (including counting buttons, folding sticker piles, rolling content label ribbon), preparing shipments, and communicating with factories regarding duplicates.
- Participate in Production fittings.
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of patternmaker style sheets.
- Research and source materials, trims, fabric, and other seasonal collection needs.
- Support with factory pick-up and drop-offs around the garment district.
- Support the atelier with transferring samples to/from PR.
- Prepare swatches and BOM updates for atelier patternmakers.
- Assist managers in maintaining an organized and clutter-free studio.
Requirements
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be a current student.
- Knowledge of woven and knitwear garment construction (or a strong desire to learn).
- Understanding of how to read patterns; basic hand sewing and machine sewing is a plus.
- Knowledge of fabric and fabric types.
- Familiarity with the garment district.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (PLM database is a plus).
- Strong desire to learn.
Pay
$17.00/hour.
