Production Intern

About the role

This is a hands-on, apprenticeship-like internship in the Production and Maintenance Department at Sandhills Global. The role offers exposure to manufacturing areas including press and bindery, with flexible part-time hours that can shift to full-time during school breaks and vacations.

Training is mentor-supported, helping interns develop skills for a potential career in production and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Shadow press and bindery technicians in troubleshooting mechanical and electronic problems.
• Learn and perform daily tasks related to printing, binding, and scheduled equipment maintenance.
• Assume varied day-to-day duties and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Preference for candidates with an interest in mechanical work and a willingness to learn.
• Ability to commute to the local office as scheduled.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Able to work independently and collaborate within a team environment.
• Results-oriented, flexible, and open to change.
• Stable and progressive work history.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Pay

$20/hour.

Schedule

Part-time with flexible hours around class schedules. Full-time hours available during school breaks and vacations. Internships can start at any point in the semester, with new hires beginning weekly.
