Responsibilities

  • Supports Line Operator in operating production equipment as outlined in work instructions, using judgment to correct problems and authority to stop production when equipment, safety, or product quality is in jeopardy.
  • Able to safely shutdown equipment in the absence of the Line Operator.
  • Perform quality tests and maintain accurate records throughout production runs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations.
  • Process, inspect, and pack material as it comes off the line.
  • Seek advice regarding quality standards and machine functions.
  • Observe all plant, company, and department safety rules and report hazards to supervision.
  • Keep work area neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Properly label all products produced.
  • Handle hazardous waste as required.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties, including training, as assigned by department supervision/leadership.
  • Perform all essential functions of the position as identified by the employer.

Requirements

  • Basic math skills, including use of formulas, decimals, and fractions.
  • Knowledge of simple measuring devices.
  • Ability to stand for a 12-hour period.
  • Able to wear a respirator.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting, or related field preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of machinery preferred.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment preferred.

Environmental Conditions

  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance.
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and safety standards.
  • Cleanroom restrictions: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, or facial hair allowed.
  • Loud noises from equipment/machinery.
  • No contact lenses allowed; prescription glasses will be provided.
  • Required PPE includes safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, and ear plugs.
  • Standing for the full shift.
  • Work with hazardous/toxic materials.

Pay

The hourly pay range for this position in Connecticut is $20.00–$22.00. This position may also be eligible for a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance.
