Pay
Competitive wages starting at $18.26/hour (includes incentive). Base range salary of $38,022.40.

Responsibilities
- Process product using tools (including knives), manual labor, and equipment in accordance with USDA and Pilgrim’s Company product standards and procedures
- Process product according to operating procedures and quality/quantity expectations
- Observe equipment operation, notifying appropriate personnel of any malfunctions and/or safety issues/concerns
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist others with the skills and knowledge gained from the position
- Stand on a fast-paced production line in a cold, potentially wet environment
- Follow all company personnel, quality, safety, and food safety policies
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and leadership teams
- Recognize and act on incidents and safety risks
- Consistently practice and enforce safe work habits throughout the organization
- Participate in process improvement and problem-solving using continuous improvement methodologies
- Follow all company animal welfare guidelines
- Perform other duties as directed
Departments and Duties
- DEBONE Plant (1298 Peeples Street, Coneline Dept.)
- Use knives to cut shoulders, pull breast, cut wings, and cut tenders
- Perform repetitive hand motions on a fast-paced production line
- DSI Dept.
- Remove nugget pieces and filets at the outfeed conveyor and transfer them onto a belt conveyor
- Inspect pieces and remove any defects
- HARVESTING Plant (1591 Broad Street)
- Live Hang Dept.
- Hang live birds into shackles without causing harm
- Must be able to hang 25 birds per minute to qualify
- EVIS Dept.
- Trim defects and inspect the front and back of birds
- Pull any bird with fecal matter or defects from the line before USDA inspection
- Cut Up Dept.
- Rehang birds as they go through the chiller process (cold on hands)
- Inspect and rehang birds onto shackles
- General Laborers
- Use knives to cut up product
- Inspect and monitor pieces on the line before USDA inspection
- Live Hang Dept.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
- Ability to comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- Ability to work in cool temperatures (around 40 degrees)
- Ability to stand and use hands for 8-11 hours per day
- Ability to multitask and work quickly
- Must be a team player and willing to work closely with other employees (less than 3 feet apart at some stations)
- Good communication skills
- Good hand and eye coordination
- Food or production experience preferred
