Production Graphics Manager / Art Department Manager

Description We are seeking an experienced Production Graphics Manager to lead our Art Department in a fast-paced sign manufacturing environment. This position oversees artwork preparation, prepress workflow, digital print production support, and a team of designers and production artists. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership skills with hands-on experience in large-format printing, sign manufacturing, and production workflow management. This individual will work closely with Sales, Production, and Installation teams to ensure projects move efficiently from concept to completion. Requirements Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of graphic designers and production artistsManage daily workflow, priorities, and departmental schedulingReview and prepare production-ready artwork for large-format printing and finishingEnsure files meet production specifications, including sizing, color accuracy, bleed, and cut requirementsCreate and verify cut files for routing and contour-cutting equipmentCoordinate with Production, Sales, and Installation teams to meet deadlines and project requirementsMaintain organized file systems, version control, and job documentationTroubleshoot artwork, prepress, and production issuesEstablish and maintain quality standards throughout the production processTrain team members on software, equipment, and company proceduresContinuously improve workflow efficiency and department performance Qualifications Required 5+ years of experience in sign manufacturing, large-format graphics, print production, or related industriesLeadership or supervisory experience managing teams and production workflowAdvanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and PhotoshopStrong understanding of large-format printing, laminating, and finishing processesExperience preparing artwork for production and creating cut pathsExcellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment Preferred Experience with Flexi, PrintFactory, Onyx, Caldera, or similar production softwareFamiliarity with flatbed cutters, CNC routers, contour cutting systems, or similar equipmentKnowledge of vinyl graphics, mounting, and installation processesExperience using ERP, MIS, or production scheduling systems What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experienceCareer growth opportunitiesStable, growing manufacturing environmentCollaborative and professional team cultureOpportunity to make a direct impact on production efficiency and department success Work Environment Manufacturing setting with exposure to printing, laminating, and cutting equipment Standing, lifting, crouching, and moving materials up to 70lbs is required Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Professional working environment.
