Production Geologist

Main Purpose

Responsible for all Geologic support activities associated with mining, to include Ore Control, Ore Routing, and Production Tracking.

Main Responsibilities/Activities

  • Compilation and interpretation of all underground geological data.
  • Upkeep and utilization of grade control model for use with all stope and sill estimations.
  • Tracking and reporting of mining activities in relation to ore control.
  • EM Probing of stope drill holes; data interpretation and stope design.
  • Affiliate with planning and implementation of underground drilling programs and core logging as required.
  • Support 24/7 underground drilling program as needed.
  • Affiliate with Geotechnical Engineers with underground mapping as needed.
  • Affiliate with Technical Services Lead with monthly reports as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Qualifications And Experience

  • A Bachelor of Science in Geology or related field preferred
  • Three (3) years underground mining experience preferred
  • Experience with mine modelling software, Leapfrog and Vulcan preferred
  • Experience with database input and management, using acQuire preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills preferred
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction preferred
  • Able to live and work in the USA.

  • All employees must: Accept personal responsibility for HSEC, Identify hazards, unsafe actions, and conditions that could result in damage to property, injury, impacts on the environment, and the community, Obey any instruction issued to protect their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others, protection of the environment and the community, Report, as soon as practicable to their manager any situations where HSEC requirements are not being conformed to within their work area, Avoid endangerment to any other person through any act or omission, Only use equipment you are trained to use and operate the equipment in a way that is safe, protects the environment and doesn’t cause undue community impacts, Participate in HSEC training provided to them, Report all incidents; including but not limited to injuries, near miss, community interactions and impacts, environmental impacts, spills, unsafe work practices, etc.
