Production Engineering Technician
Responsibilities
- Owner of Technical Support processes within assigned production area
- Ensure that production processes may be conducted safely
- Work closely with Production staff to ensure that the production plan is met
- Aid in troubleshooting of process problems and implement solutions which reduce downtime and minimize maintenance costs
- Maintain monitoring of process equipment performance to identify potential errors and implement solutions to eliminate reoccurrence of those problems
- Lead and co-facilitate process improvement projects
- Lead technology transfer projects, new process introduction, and production capacity expansions
- Update and audit Bill of Material for assigned process area
- Create, validate, and maintain Production Work Instructions
- Develop and update process procedures to ensure that documentation is accurate and understandable
- Provide technical support to the factory's production and logistics functions concerning product documentation
- Interface with all levels of management and employees to gather information and provide guidance for implementation
- Synthesize complex or diverse information; collect and research data; translate concepts and information into images; use feedback to modify designs; apply design principles; demonstrate attention to detail
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views; give and welcome feedback
- Follow policies and procedures; complete administrative tasks correctly and on time; support organization's goals and values
- Manage Site Specific instruction for the factory
Requirements
- Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- 4 years of experience in manufacturing or production environments with a strong understanding of process flow and factory operations
- Experience with composite materials or a minimum of 2 years in a similar process-focused manufacturing role
- Ability to create, update, and maintain SOPs, PWIs, and other production documentation
- Experience formulating and processing engineering change requests
Skills
- Understanding of 'lean' principles
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Pay
Pay Range: $25 - $30 per hour
Shifts
- Monday - Thursday from 6pm - 4:30am (Night shift - $3/hour differential)
