Production/Engineering Liaison Livermore

Job Summary

General Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world’s leading resources for high-technology systems development ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to remotely piloted aircraft, airborne sensors, and advanced electric, electronic, wireless and laser technologies. Under general direction, this position is responsible for developing and controlling manufacturing processes and evaluating and resolving production issues related to manufacturing, design, quality and material engineering.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyzes, evaluates and resolves engineering related production problems.
• Analyzes, develops and controls manufacturing processes, procedures and tooling.
• Analyzes defective, damaged or malfunctioning parts, assemblies, equipment and systems; analyzes and routes non-conforming reports; develops and implements corrective action.
• Identifies training needs; trains appropriate staff.
• May represent group as member of change control board.
• Analyses, investigates and recommends design and process changes; coordinates with engineering and manufacturing departments.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
• Responsible for maintaining a productive and safe working environment in accordance with established operating procedures and practices.

Job Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree and five or more years of progressive professional experience in a technical capacity in production operations.
• May substitute equivalent experience in lieu of education.
• Must have complete knowledge of production and engineering support principles, theories and concepts;
• A complete understanding of practices, techniques, and standards;
• Strong working knowledge and experience of Lean Manufacturing principles;
• Knowledge of tool design and concepts.
