Production Support Engineer II

What You’ll Be Doing

• Investigate application issues; prioritize incidents based on impact and severity.
• Identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Apply IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for incident, change, and problem management.
• Write complex SQL queries; troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines.
• Manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Oversight production changes affecting CIBC’s SAS Viya AML platform, including bug fixes and version upgrades.
• Perform disaster recovery tests.
• Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.
• Express technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments.

Who You Are

• Possess 1-2 years of technical experience in application or production support within banking or financial services environments.
• Experience with Linux virtual machines and command-line interface, writing SQL queries, and a technical understanding of cloud computing (preferably Azure).
• Experience or familiarity with SAS Viya and relevant certifications is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
