Production Engineering

The Production Engineer is primarily responsible for the technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing motor production processes. This individual will be successful by taking pride and owning the results of their conducted work, being hands on with the products, teaching and ensuring others know how to perform the work, as well as understanding how their decisions will impact the overall success of the company’s goals.

  • Create tooling, fixturing, detailed assembly and test processes for new and improvement of motors and other production hardware
  • Create, maintain, and improve FMEA, Control Plans, and other process control tools
  • Identify and act on opportunities to reduce material and labor costs
  • Design methods, processes, and tooling that can be automated
  • Understand and implement measurement techniques utilizing best practices to assure part and assembly compliance
  • Investigate, assess and resolve production issues
  • Support introduction of new process and products into production
  • Implement improvements to current operations to improve efficiency
  • Seek out and utilize external resources and experts to solve issues
  • Manage the procurement of necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment
  • Create, maintain and refine detailed manufacturing documentation (i.e. Operation Sheets, Routers, Set-up/Tooling sheets, etc.)
  • Generate accurate estimates (i.e. set-up, cycle time, material, etc.) using cost effective manufacturing methods
  • Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods to maximize efficiency
  • Generate procedures from various industry and aerospace specifications
  • Communicate designs and design intent with team members and suppliers
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to designs, material selection, facility layout plans, cost estimates, DFM concepts, root cause investigations, etc.
  • Participate and lead root cause investigations, troubleshooting activities, continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field
  • 3+ years’ experience manufacturing electric motors or similar electromechanical assemblies
  • Knowledgeable of electric motors, their components, the equipment, processes, and techniques for testing and manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as all suppliers and customers
  • Computer literate, with demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Pay Range

$87,500 - $115,000
