Description
The Production Engineering role at Perrigo supports operations in the AlleganMI manufacturing plant. Key responsibilities include addressing urgent business needs, monitoring line efficiency, coordinating continuous improvement projects, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
Scope of the Role
- Reviews production data and addresses urgent needs
- Tracks line efficiency using Pareto charts and DT
- Maintains and follows up on changes to ensure impact and ROI
- Coordinates and leads continuous improvement projects
- Develops and implements solutions using DMAIC problem-solving approach
Subject Matter Expert (SME)
- Acts as a technical expert with knowledge of packaging equipment and technology
- Trains operations and support groups as an SMED
- Solves complex technical problems using engineering principles
- Ensures compliance with laws such as OSHA, Environmental, Safety, cGMP, and corporate quality requirements
Capital Projects
- Organizes and generates project scopes, cost estimates, and capital appropriation requests
- Supports equipment installations and process improvements
- Provides engineering support during URS, FAT, IQ, OQ, and PQ phases
- Manages project direction and interfaces with multiple departments, consultants, and contractors
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Engineering Management)
- Understanding of engineering principles and ability to read and understand system design documentation
- Experience with lean principles and six sigma processes
