About the role

We currently have an opportunity for a Production Crew Member at our manufacturing plant in Richmond, VA.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a bag making line consisting of a bag machine, cartoner, case packer, and palletizer to produce various sizes of finished nylon cooking bags.
• Inspect and perform tests for quality issues related to seal integrity, legible print, finished product dimensions, and other critical properties.
• Set up the bag making line, maintain logs, determine operating conditions, make adjustments, and correct malfunctions.
• Safely operate hand and fork trucks when needed.
• Perform other crew member functions as deemed necessary by management.
• Maintain general housekeeping.
• Demonstrate willingness to cross-train and advance skills.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
• Ability to retain and act on oral instructions.
• Ability to observe and read instruments, gauges, and dials, and make adjustments.
• Ability to estimate size and quantity of objects.
• Ability to constantly observe for quality defects and subtle machine problems.
• Ability to make simple arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with packaging lines, films, or similar.
• Previous manufacturing experience.

Pay

USD $21.35 per hour.

Schedule

12-hour shift on a 2/2/3 schedule.
