Seneca Gaming Corporation Production Cook position within a 24-hour food-and-beverage operation.
Responsibilities
- Rotate between cooking stations and restaurants in hot-temperature areas, each responsible for specific food items and cooking devices (e.g., continually refilling and replacing pans with specified garnish in steam tables).
- Command all kitchen stations: roast, fry, pasta, vegetable, grill, pantry, breakfast, sauté, and high-volume quantity cooking.
- Maintain proper food temperatures in accordance with regulatory and ServSafe standards.
- Properly label, date, and rotate all products to ensure safe keeping and sanitation.
- Review production schedule to determine food requirements, including variety and quantity.
- Assemble supplies and equipment needed for daily cooking activities.
- Follow production sheets and other records as required.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, broilers, and grills; use a variety of pots, pans, and equipment to prepare food.
- Work in harmony with others under a strenuous environment.
- Report to work well-groomed in full uniform, on time, with badge on upper left side.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service of food and beverage to all guests.
- Be hospitable, friendly, and polite with guests, co-workers, and management using positive body language.
- Maintain a current understanding of all information-security policies and procedures, including the Seneca Gaming Corporation Acceptable Use Policy.
- Provide exceptional customer service and communicate in a pleasant, professional manner at all times.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Culinary education or experience preferred.
- Two years of intermediate cooking skills required.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Excellent communication skills: ability to read, write, and speak effectively with employees and customers.
- Ability to resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Noise level is usually moderately loud; on the casino floor it increases to loud.
- Must be able to work in an environment where smoking is permitted.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino F&B operation.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Moderate exposure to hot and cold temperatures and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity required, including handling objects up to fifty pounds.
- Some exposure to physical risk; basic safety precautions must be followed.
Pay
Starting rate: $17.92 per hour. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and education.
