Responsibilities
- Sort and stack lumber according to size, length, grade, and production requirements.
- Prepare, stage, and organize lumber for roof and floor truss production.
- Read production tags, labels, and work orders to identify required lumber.
- Verify lumber dimensions and quantities before materials are sent to production.
- Place lumber in designated locations to maintain an efficient production flow.
- Safely move, lift, carry, and handle lumber throughout the manufacturing area.
- Absorb materials for truss assembly.
- Inspect lumber for damage, defects, or incorrect dimensions and report issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow production schedules and daily work assignments.
- Meet established production, productivity, and quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Work cooperatively with truss builders, sawyers, production associates, and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, truss manufacturing, construction, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience handling lumber or building materials is a plus.
- Ability to read and understand basic measurements and use a tape measure.
- Ability to identify lumber by size and length.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work safely and cooperatively as part of a team.
