About the Role

As a Production Associate - Shipping, you will perform a variety of duties related to the production of custom doors and entryways, ensuring safety, quality, and teamwork in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety guidelines in all work activities.
  • Assemble custom-made doors using templates and instructions, troubleshooting issues to produce high-quality products.
  • Operate upstream equipment and processes to facilitate product flow and support downstream activities.
  • Work with CNC equipment, hand tools, and measurement devices.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities and creative problem-solving.
  • Measure and perform mathematical computations, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Train and work in other departments as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.
  • Intermediate mechanical comprehension and abilities.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Skills to measure accurately, including reading a tape measure down to 1/32".
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs with assistance.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work a full shift, arrive on time, and work overtime as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, or construction experience.
  • Blueprint or template reading experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate office equipment and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently talk and hear.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lift, push, pull, and/or move up to 70 pounds with assistance.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

  • Safety glasses are always required on the production floor.
  • Hearing protection is required in designated areas.

Special-Lite manufactures engineered architectural products, including commercial entrance systems, interior aluminum framing, swing or sliding aluminum-framed doors, and FRP restroom partitions.
