Production Associate - Paint Line - 2nd shift

About the role

The Production Associate performs tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means
• Assist production operators
• Move and transport raw materials and finished product
• Assist operators with loading machines and positioning work
• Hang fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications and prepare parts for painting
• Remove parts from the line after painting
• Remove debris from parts prior to hanging
• Determine best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density
• Inspect hooks for burn off lifecycles
• Inspect and maintain equipment for safety compliance, including guarding
• Correct safety issues prior to operating equipment
• Inspect coated items for paint coverage and test coating thickness
• Perform washer preventive maintenance tasks
• Clean and maintain work area and equipment
• Assist and train others to hang parts on the paint line

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent education preferred
• Minimum of one (1) year of related experience strongly preferred
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts
• Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection
• Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools
• Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, the employee will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions
• Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals
• Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision
• Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching
• Work with fabricated metal parts, powder-coated materials and cleaning chemicals
• Lift up to 40 lbs.

Pay

Pay range $20.00 - $21.00/hour DOE
