2nd Shift - Production Associate - Paint Line

About the Role

As a CPI Production Associate, you will work on tasks that require mainly physical abilities and effort. You will load and unload materials, parts, or products manually or by mechanized means, assist production operators, and move and transport raw materials and finished product. You may also assist operators with loading machines and positioning the work.

Responsibilities

  • Hang fabricated parts on the conveyor paint line to engineering specifications and prepare parts for painting.
  • Remove parts from the line once painted and remove any debris from parts prior to hanging.
  • Determine best practice hanging methods to maximize paint quality and load density.
  • Inspect hooks for burn off lifecycles and maintain equipment for compliance with safety requirements, including all guarding.
  • Correct any safety issues prior to operating the equipment.
  • Inspect coated items for paint coverage and test for coating thickness.
  • Perform washer preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Clean and maintain work area and equipment.
  • Assist and train others to hang parts on the paint line.
  • Continuously maintain a clean work area and dispose of trash and production scrap.
  • Assist in cleaning common areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Technical Competencies

  • A minimum of one (1) year of related experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and engineering specifications to properly select parts.
  • Capable of using measuring devices as required for product inspection.
  • Good mechanical skills including the use of hand tools.
  • Good troubleshooting skills such that, after a reasonable training period, you will be able to evaluate operational problems of the equipment and know the proper corrective actions.
  • Ability to read and understand equipment operating, maintenance, and troubleshooting manuals.
  • Available and willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as production demand dictates.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.

Physical/Environmental Requirements

  • Frequent standing, walking, carrying, lifting, stooping, and crouching.
  • Work with fabricated metal parts, powder coated materials, and cleaning chemicals.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
