About the role

The Production Associate (Packaging Department) is responsible for daily operations related to packaging bulk flower and pre-rolls into finished goods. Working within a team, the Production Associate ensures product packaging KPIs are met under the direction of production leadership and reports to the Production Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Package flower products accurately by weight as offered by Lazy River Products (LRP).
  • Use scales and balances accurately to ensure product weights meet regulatory and LRP SOP requirements.
  • Apply labels to product packaging accurately and neatly per LRP SOP.
  • Engage in sanitation practices to maintain organization and cleanliness of tools, equipment, workstations, and work rooms.
  • Maintain department logs, forms, and records with clear and legible writing.
  • Learn complex tasks, processes, and develop professionally within the department's operational procedures.
  • Perform quality control for products and product labels (information and proper application).
  • Maintain professionalism and productive relationships within the department and company, regardless of opinions, challenges, or conflict.
  • Raise suggestions, concerns, or constructive feedback in a professional manner.
  • Follow and execute directives from department or company leadership.
  • Work efficiently and productively, supporting colleagues, meeting or exceeding KPIs, and proactively addressing challenges.
  • Wear LRP uniform and PPE, practice good hygiene, and follow all safe handling requirements.
  • Assist colleagues and leadership with department duties and tasks throughout the day.
  • Assist with inventory audits for products and consumables, communicating with leadership about supply levels.
  • Perform duties and operate tools and equipment proficiently and safely, adhering to all safety policies, SOPs, and regulations.
  • May be assigned additional duties or asked to work in adjacent departments to assist with overall production needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required).
  • Inventory or manufacturing experience (preferred).
  • Previous Massachusetts cannabis industry or production experience (preferred).
  • Proficient with Windows OS and Office Suite applications (Office, Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to reliably perform standard mathematical equations pertaining to quantity, weights, and measures.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and comply with all legal or company regulatory requirements for working in the industry.
  • Ability to pass a formal background check per Massachusetts regulatory requirements for agent registration.
  • Reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

  • Manufacturing work environment with exposure to loud machinery, bright lights, airborne particulate, or other production hazards.
  • Must wear ear, eye, and respiratory protection as a precaution to potential risks.
  • Production area is a limited-access and clean environment; must wear provided uniform, closed-toe shoes, hair nets, disposable gloves, and other PPE.
  • Requires tactile fine motor skills with persistent use of fingers, hands, wrists, and arms to build and package materials throughout the shift.
  • Mobility requirements include traveling between rooms and departments, sitting or standing at a workstation, and accessing materials that may require squatting, lifting, or reaching.

Pay

$18.00/hour (non-exempt).

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:45 AM–4:30 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Total of 40 hours per week, including potential weekends and holidays if necessary.
