About the role
Manufacture, assemble, and package Steel Ceilings products to produce needed items in pursuit of customers’ orders as directed by the team lead and/or supervisor. Additional responsibilities include material handling, crating, and machine helper duties.
Responsibilities
- Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Policies.
- Assemble materials and package finished products for transport to customers.
- Ensure that standards for quality, output, safety, etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
- Keep accurate records of production, waste, and quality checks undertaken.
- Properly maintain equipment.
- Maintain a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services without sacrificing safety or environmental standards.
- Commit to and follow the facility Mission, Vision, and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.
- Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
- Conform to all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping floors, emptying trash containers, and ensuring a clean working environment.
- Perform general duties such as material handling, crating, and machine helper tasks.
- Upon training and qualification, perform miscellaneous duties including machine operation (turrets, brakes, presses, panel benders, tube benders), final panel assembly, infill pad creation, forklift operation, inventory counting, and assisting others.
Requirements
- Prior manufacturing, assembly, material movement, or machine operator experience preferred.
- Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials, fabrication processes, and machinery preferred.
- Ability to learn how to operate a forklift and other company vehicles.
Work Environment
This position operates in a manufacturing setting and can be subject to:
- Extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Uneven walking surfaces with cords, tools, and other obstacles.
- Intermittent loud noises.
- Dusty or dirty conditions.
Basic PPE required: safety glasses, earplugs, and steel toe/composite boots. Specific PPE and training will be provided for activities requiring additional accommodations.
