Production Associate I

This role operates in a team-based production line environment where each operator passes work to the next in sequence.

Responsibilities

• Performs entry to mid-level manufacturing and assembly operations following procedures, work instructions, and process aid sheets.
• Uses lift platforms, hoists, torque tools, and other power hand tools to assemble machines.
• Reads and follows work procedures or receives verbal instructions regarding duties.
• Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Maintains daily production output and cross-trains in multiple functions for business flexibility.
• Follows all Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Quality policies and procedures.
• May participate in quality control inspections and work with team leads, engineers, supervisors, and managers to improve quality and process efficiency.
• Complies with attendance policies and may be required to work voluntary overtime as needed.
• Participates in quality activities, training sessions, and employee activity teams as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED or local equivalent, or 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to communicate, receive, and understand instructions regarding duties.
• Demonstrated detail-oriented and quality-minded work habits.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and leadership.
• Must be willing to submit to a background investigation (e.g., verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background).
• Must be willing to take a drug test.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be willing to work in Salt Lake City, Utah.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (floor to waist, waist to crown, and horizontally).
• Must be able to perform frequent simple grasping, firm grasping, fine manipulation, neck rotation, and neck flexion throughout the workday.
• Must be able to twist, push/pull, reach at, above, and below shoulder height frequently throughout the workday.
• Must be able to frequently stoop and bend; occasionally squat and kneel throughout the workday.
• Must be able to stand or sit continuously throughout the day.
• Must be able to occasionally ascend, descend, and balance on a portable step stool.

Desired Qualifications

• 2 or more years of related manufacturing experience.
• Experience in medical manufacturing or other highly regulated industry preferred.
• Local candidates will be given preference.
• Ability to competently read, write, and speak in English.
• Demonstrated basic computer skills and ability to navigate online instructions.

• Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within defined deadlines.
• Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required.
• Knowledge and understanding of production processes, work instructions, documentation configuration control, non-conforming & rework documentation requirements.
• Aware of and comply with Stop Order, Concessions, ESD, Calibration, Preventative Maintenance, Material Identification & Segregation, and Good Documentation Practices.
