Production Associate I - 2nd shift

About the role
Pay rate $16/hr with a $1.00 shift differential. The Production Associate 1 at Cornerstone Building Brands Aperture Solutions is responsible for various windows & doors assembly operations while ensuring we safely make a quality product, minimize waste/cost, and deliver on time to customers. You will work with a sense of urgency while maintaining material flow throughout the plant.
Responsibilities
- Operate hand tools as required and assemble, lift, pick, and pack products
- Support and participate in Employee Engagement activities
- Follow defined clean-up times
- Work in a safe manner and follow safe work practices and policies
- Follow established rates as defined by customer demand and standardized operations
- Participate in defining and improving standard work to enhance product quality
- Identify problems and communicate issues
- Assist with training co-workers
- Support a respectful workplace
- Perform other duties across the plant as needed or directed by supervision or management
Requirements
- Ability to read tape measures and interpret fractions and decimals
- Basic word and number recognition/visual cues
- Operate power tools with dexterity and know when to change PPE
- Identify hazards and understand safety protocols/PPE for your station
- Knowledge of measurement standards, tolerances, and product defects specific to your workstation
- Follow instructions and Standard Work while frequently referring to work instructions
- Understand in-station quality requirements and critical-to-quality (CTQ) factors
- Communicate effectively by actively listening, explaining clearly, asking questions, and sharing important information
- Time management and awareness of cycle times
- Ability to wear required PPE: metatarsal shoes, arm guards, ear protection, and safety glasses
- Dependability, punctuality, and attention to detail
- High school diploma preferred
- Ability to bend, squat, twist, push/pull, reach, and stand for 8 to 12 hours a day
- Ability to consistently lift at least 50 pounds
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends based on business needs
- Ability to work various positions in different departments (cross-trained)
- Perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and stand for long periods
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations
- Follow supervisors’ instructions/directions as given
- Possess problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and initiative skills
