Production Associate (Helper)

Responsibilities

• Safely operate equipment for handling and producing packaged gas cylinders, both high pressure and liquefied gases.
• Load and unload gas cylinders and other products onto and off of route trucks and trailers using proper carts.
• Sort empty cylinders by type and roll cylinders using a forklift truck.
• Understand hazards of various gases, read and interpret cylinder labels, and color-code tanks.
• Accurately label cylinders and perform basic cylinder maintenance.
• Inspect cylinders before filling, following government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
• Conduct safety checks, such as odor tests and valve inspections.
• Fill cylinders by pressure and weight, adhering to regulations and standards.
• Manage paperwork to meet DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
• Complete quality control sheets as required.
• Comply with all government and company standards regarding the safe handling of hazardous materials/cylinder gases.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and related rules.
• A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
• In lieu of specific industry experience, may accept an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP system.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations.
