Position Summary

Sustain the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas according to Catholic Social Teachings by supporting TurnStyles Management staff with sales and profitability through merchandising, inventory, and expense control, and managing operating costs. Essential Functions

• Follow established guidelines for merchandise testing, cleaning, pricing, and tagging.
• Assess items for recalls under the guidance of the Production Manager.
• Work in assigned daily positions for up to 8 hours, focusing on sorting, pricing, and staging household décor items at a rate of 65+ pieces per hour.
• Coach new employees in the production process.
• Assist other volunteers with answering questions and connecting them with the Supervisor when necessary.
• Maintain safe and organized workspaces in all processing areas.
• Clean and reset stations before leaving for the day.
• Serve as a backup on the sales floor and donation bay, as needed.
• Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Be a team player and work well with others.

Minimum Position Requirements

• Show enthusiasm for Catholic Charities' mission.
• Be willing to uphold the agency's values: love, patience, kindness, faithfulness, self-control, and joy.
• Complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any required ongoing training.
• Have strong customer service skills, adept at handling donor and customer inquiries.
• Have knowledge of retail or thrift store operations, and basic computer skills.
• Be able to work flexible hours.
• Be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, move, and handle merchandise (sometimes over 50 pounds).
• Stand and/or walk for extended periods (up to 9 hours).
• Flexibility to bend, squat, stretch, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
• Visual acuity including near and distance vision, depth perception.
• Exposure to temperature changes, extreme cold, heat, noise, vibration, moving machinery, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and gases.
