About the role

The Production Associate (Cylinder Loader) is responsible for the safe and compliant handling of high-pressure and liquid gas cylinders. This includes loading and unloading cylinders onto and off trucks, ensuring all actions meet federal, state, and local regulations as well as Airgas safety procedures. Prepares outbound shipments for delivery trucks, adhering to all governmental, Airgas, and distributor standards. This includes verifying truck inventory, inspecting, and replacing straps on cylinder pallets, and reporting on the daily status of shipments.

  • Cylinder Handling and Organization: Coordinates and organizes various gases and cylinder sizes onto pallets to minimize the load size footprint. As necessary, sort incoming empty cylinders into their correct size and gas groups.
  • Safety and Gas Knowledge: Maintains a safe work environment by understanding the hazards associated with various gases, cylinder sizes, and contents, which requires reading and interpreting cylinder labels and color-coding.
  • Equipment Operation: Safely operates warehouse/material-handling equipment, including forklifts and pallet jacks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have at least 1 year of forklift experience.
  • Ability to perform heavy work – routinely lifts 25 – 75 lbs., and occasionally lifts 76 to greater than 100 lbs.
  • Ability to read and comprehend all written and computer generated documentation.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior industry experience.

Schedule

Monday - Friday, with two shift options:

  • 9:00 am to 6:00 pm
  • 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm

Overtime as needed.
