Production Associate (Cylinder Filler)
About the role
We are hiring a Production Associate (Cylinder Filler) in South Plainfield, NJ. The position involves handling and filling gas products into various types of cylinders, ensuring compliance with regulations and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Reviews and ensures cylinders are safe for filling, adhering to government, Airgas, and distributor standards.
- Conducts safety checks such as odor tests, cap and valve inspections.
- Analyzes product purity and mixtures.
- Carefully handles high-pressure, medical, and liquid cylinders.
- Prepares cylinders for filling, evacuating them to ensure quality and purity.
- Fills cylinders according to regulations and standards.
- Assists with loading and unloading cylinders onto and off pallets and trucks.
- Uses forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Maintains accurate records to meet DOT, FDA, OSHA, and Airgas standards.
- Completes quality control sheets as needed.
- Keeps up-to-date with hazards of various gases and correctly labels cylinders.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred).
- Intermediate proficiency in Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of basic math operations in various units of measure.
- Understanding of Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and relevant rules and regulations.
- A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required.
- Prior experience utilizing SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic math operations in various units of measure.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Lives by Airgas safety programs, OSHA, and related rules.
- A minimum of 1 year of related technical experience.
