About the role

As a Production Associate, you will support the Production team in managing the pre-production and production stages of the garment lifecycle—from initial prototype to finished goods delivery. You will drive the daily development process through communication with a global vendor base, create and manage WIP (Work-In-Progress) reports, issue purchase orders, and prepare Buy Charts for monthly meetings with Sales and Design teams. The role involves proactive issue resolution, costing, milestone tracking, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Merchandising, and Design.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage WIP reports for development tracking and garment delivery.
  • Prepare Buy Charts for Monthly Buy Meetings with Sales and Design teams.
  • Provide status reports to the Production Manager.
  • Drive daily development process through communication with global vendors throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Proactively highlight development issues and partner with the Manager on resolutions.
  • Communicate approvals to vendors within required timeframes.
  • Track samples for Public Relations and Global Sales channels; assist with special requests.
  • Issue Purchase Orders (POs) and own Seasonal Production Validation meetings.
  • Prepare initial costing and collaborate with internal teams.
  • Attend SMS (Salesman Sample) and production fittings as required.
  • Partner with the Design team for product development approvals.
  • Track internal development milestones and SMS deadline dates.
  • Utilize AS400, Gerber Web PDM, and/or Yunique PLM systems for product lifecycle management.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional work experience in apparel (wovens) production, preferably in a SKU-intensive environment.
  • Prior experience with suits is a plus.
  • College degree or equivalent professional work experience.

Skills

  • Advanced MS Excel skills: data manipulation, pivot tables, V-lookup.
  • Working knowledge of WebPDM, PLM, Illustrator, Photoshop, and PowerPoint (an asset).
  • Experience using AS400 (an asset); willingness to learn and use the AS400 system.
  • Strong project management and multitasking skills with critical attention to detail.
  • Confident, engaging verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-energy, fast-paced fashion environment with shifting priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal teams, vendors, and overseas offices.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $31.25 per hour ($65,000 per year) to $33.66 per hour ($70,000 per year), based on a 40-hour workweek.
