Production Assistant (Temporary)

About the role

We are seeking a Production Assistant to join the CNN FlashDocs team, creating premium longform content for CNN’s linear and digital platforms. The Production Assistant will support the lead producers, associate producers and senior leadership team in all aspects of development, production and post‑production.

Responsibilities

• Support and produce multiple segments; be highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Have experience supporting shoots in the field; light to moderate travel expected.
• Transcribe drafts of interview descriptions, guest bios, and headlines.
• Support research packets assigned by producers and senior leadership.
• Help manage workflows, calendars, and team communications.
• Pitch stories, characters, and experts.
• Develop, produce, and edit content for social media posting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Iconik, Airtable, and Adobe Premiere preferred.
• Highly organized and detail‑oriented.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Passion for topical news and key issues, especially related to popular culture.
• Understanding of diverse video formats, from live programming to storytelling.
• Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Experience researching and developing stories through development.
• Experience shooting and producing in the field.
• Second language is a plus.
• Ability to work closely with senior producers on scripts and pitches.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, team‑oriented environment.
• Active driver’s license preferred.

Pay

Pay Range: $43,680.00 – $81,120.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
