Job Responsibilities
- Implement the daily/weekly production schedule through communication and follow-up with process leads
- Aid in planning and communicating project-related information
- Interface with all facets of the operation: manufacturing, sales, safety, customers, and other related personnel both inside and outside the company
- Promote awareness for safety programs/initiatives
- Maintain cost control; explain variances and month-to-month variations/changes
- Investigate and recommend improvements including tracking improvements
- Respond to sales and manufacturing teams' needs
- Compare information and counts, weigh, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
- Operate forklifts to stack and retrieve supplies and materials
- Document and maintain inventory and ensure production area organization and cleanliness
- Receive, unpack, and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages, and correspond with shippers to rectify damages and shortages
- Check and store merchandise or materials
- Fill requisitions and orders
- Pack, crate, and ship products out to distribution centers, departments, or assembly lines
- Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
- Examine outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
- Perform loading and unloading of outgoing and incoming shipments
- Retrieve finished goods from inventory and stage shipments
- Operate tier lift truck to load and unload trucks
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Training and/or forklift experience necessary
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
