Production Assistant PVC A Crew 6:45AM to 7PM

Job Summary

The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting the extrusion operator in efficiently operating the extrusion equipment and producing quality products within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment. Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
• Absorb and complete production operator reports with high attention to detail.
• Monitor, complete, and document quality checks to ensure products meet product standards before packaging, as required.
• Perform placement of pallets, proper packaging techniques, and attach labels for finished material according to process instructions and product specifications.
• Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to production assistants, assistant operators, operators, and team leaders as needed.
• In the Rail Plant, assist the extrusion operator with all machine cleaning functions including saws, tanks, etc., as needed.

Qualifications, Education And Experience

• High School or GED required.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience, preferred; however, no prior experience is necessary.
• Ability to read, write, and understand the English language.
• Basic mathematical proficiency in the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read gauges and use similar measuring devices.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including: Push / Pull / Lift / Manipulate 10lbs – 100lbs.
• Ability to stand for complete shift; kneeling, lifting overhead, bending, climbing, and crawling are often required.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures can become very hot depending on the weather.
• Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
