Responsibilities
- Operate machinery, equipment, and hand tools to cut, shape, splice, and fit plastic and composite materials into parts and assemblies.
- Follow blueprints and technical drawings to complete hand lay-up processes, including bonding shell halves.
- Install components such as fittings, gauge plates, manways, and other accessories.
- Cut and prepare composite materials using patterns to support assembly processes.
- Perform minor product adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Utilize tools and equipment including grinders, trimmers, rollers, and measuring instruments to complete production tasks.
- Maintain equipment functionality by completing preventive maintenance activities.
- Inspect work throughout the process to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Accurately document production information on process sheets and timecards.
- Identify material or product defects and contribute to maintaining high-quality output.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to support production goals.
- Adapt to additional tasks and responsibilities to support overall production requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to corporate safety rules and regulations.
- Ensure equipment and processes operate safely and efficiently.
- Support the development of Hazard Assessments (HAA) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Actively contribute to protecting the health and safety of all employees at the worksite.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma is preferred.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
- Experience with spray gun applications is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Strong verbal, written, and reading comprehension skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team with strong communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and attention to detail for identifying defects.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tools, equipment, and processes.
- Comfortable working in a fiberglass manufacturing environment.
- Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including overtime and weekends.
- Ability to meet physical demands, including lifting 20–50 lbs, and performing bending, kneeling, crouching, and standing for extended periods.
