Peterson is a family-owned business with over 85 years of experience shaping communities through infrastructure projects. This role serves as the Product Support Inspection Specialist, focusing on optimizing the inspection-to-quote process.
Responsibilities
- Review and prioritize Action Required (AR) items from completed Cat Inspect reports.
- Maintain clean and accurate alert queues for Condition Monitoring systems and Cat Inspect website.
- Create and manage cases, providing clear descriptions and recommendations for work opportunities.
- Collaborate with customers and internal teams to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the inspection-to-quote process.
- Support and maintain documentation standards and data accuracy within Cat Inspect and related systems.
- Assist Pricing Team with creating and transmitting quotes to customers for parts and services.
- Travel to Peterson locations for meetings, training, company events, professional development, and industry conferences.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of directly related experience in construction, heavy equipment industry, or automotive industries.
- Experience quoting service and repair work, ensuring accuracy and alignment with customer needs.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment or automotive parts and service.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Ability to translate inspection data into detailed repair plans, identifying required work, parts, and labor.
- Customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with Cat Inspect or similar systems is preferred.
Qualifications
- Computer-proficiency with basic Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software applications, systems, and technologies.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines independently.
- Ability to translate inspection data into detailed repair plans, identifying required work, parts, and labor.
- Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work effectively under minimal supervision.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment industry terminology highly preferred.

- 35.55 - 41.77 USD Hourly for San Leandro, CA
- 31.99 - 34.78 USD Hourly for Hillsboro, OR
