With general supervision, coordinate the timely movement and processing of parts on assigned programs or areas to meet customer delivery schedules.
Responsibilities
- Work with supply chain to procure new parts and/or processed parts daily, addressing shortages and participating in long-range planning meetings as needed.
- Support aircraft on ground (A.O.G.) maintenance agreements and expedited jobs.
- Move parts between functions or teams using a forklift or other moving devices, following traveler/route instructions.
- Package or repackage parts to prevent damage during movement or handling.
- Request and stage tooling required to support team schedules.
- Coordinate work in the area to meet schedules and effectively utilize resources.
- Communicate with support groups to initiate corrective action for work orders on hold.
- Resolve and communicate scheduling conflicts between the shop and business teams as a liaison.
- Coordinate with other functional groups to develop and implement daily work schedules.
- Participate in team meetings to develop and implement plans for schedules, quality, cost, and other team goals.
- Update information for special scheduling needs or projects.
- Define component shortages required to support the assembly build schedule.
- Track work order and purchase order status to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain recovery schedules (ESDs) to support customer requirements.
- Audit material storage areas to support inventory location and count accuracy.
- Monitor and coordinate the packaging of parts to prevent damage.
- Train and assist less experienced employees.
- Observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain a neat and orderly work area.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Pursuing a college degree.
- Two years of dispatching, shop scheduling, or production planning experience in a computerized manufacturing system environment, or demonstrated ability to perform described responsibilities.
- Knowledge of material requirements planning, capacity planning, and shop floor control.
- Knowledge of AMAPS preferred.
- General understanding of manufacturing routing, travelers, and blueprints.
- May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
