Key Responsibilities

  • Apply broad knowledge of design and engineering principles to assess and resolve product and process issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Lead research of technical, operational, and quality issues, and design interim and final engineering solutions.
  • Analyze, conduct root cause analysis, and develop dispositions for design non-conformances.
  • Develop and implement product and process improvements using innovative approaches.
  • Analyze reported problems for potential safety issues and manage complex resolutions.
  • Provide design phase subject matter expertise by supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and participating in design reviews.
  • Represent the engineering community from the build phase through the post-production environment.
  • Ensure supplier and build partner compliance with company standards.
  • Lead activities for on-site disabled product repair teams and support accident investigations.
  • Design appropriate jacking and shoring schemes and lead the design of interim structural repairs.

Required Qualifications

  • An engineering degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or Electrical Engineering Technology is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience with the design of structural and electrical rework or repairs to restore aircraft or systems to their original design capability.
  • Previous commercial material review experience is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reading and creating engineering drawings, specifications, processes, and design manuals.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, or aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
  • Experience researching engineering designs to develop solutions for product or process issues.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience assisting with analyses, root cause analysis, and drafting dispositions for non-conformances.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience collecting, researching, and evaluating issues for product or process improvement opportunities.
  • Materials Review Board (MRB) or Universal Product Review (UPR) approval authority certification.
  • Executive interior installation or design experience.
  • Modification and repair experience on wide-body aircraft.

Work Environment

Daily exposure to a factory environment which includes stairs, trip hazards, high noise areas, chemical hazards, and entering airplanes during various stages of the build process. Regular and predictable attendance is a requirement for this position.
