Product Quality Inspector - 1st Shift (Fabs)

Responsibilities

• Completes inspections of fabrication structures and undercarriage using standard work, a checklist, and tooling provided (gauges, templates, etc.)
• Performs overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection
• Inspects welds on the product to ensure it meets the specifications as outlined by Engineering
• Identifies defects, takes pictures, and records results in the defect management system
• Follows and utilizes CPS principles of 5S, Continuous Improvement Idea Reporting, Waste Elimination, and Standard Work

Basic Qualifications

• Basic computer skills
• Ability to use measuring tools and check gauges

Physical Requirements

• Lift parts up to 35 pounds individually
• Occasional bending, reaching, and squatting while performing tasks
• Consistent usage of required PPE for the task being performed
• Ability to work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures
• Ability to stand at the workstation while performing tasks

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of Caterpillar systems ATRS (Assembly Tracking and Reliability System), PINPoint, Geneo
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
• Previous quality, welding or fabrication experience

Pay

Starting Pay: $19.60/hr

Summary Pay Range: $20.20 – $25.25/hr

Schedule

1st Shift: Monday – Friday 6:15 AM – 2:15 PM

Mandatory overtime required and scheduled in advance
