About the role
The In-Process Quality Inspection Technician for our Magnetic Resonance Imaging business is responsible for performing a variety of quality inspection and documentation tasks during the manufacturing process to help reduce defects and increase product quality consistency.
Responsibilities
- Measure parts and tools accurately using appropriate tools and guidelines during the manufacturing process.
- Conduct quality inspections in SAP to maintain timely and precise inventory tracking.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained, addressing any issues promptly.
- Document and organize inspection results clearly, adhering to Good Documentation Practices.
- Collaborate with teams and participate in audits, while reporting quality issues and suggesting improvements.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in quality inspection in a manufacturing facility, preferably in a regulated environment (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical device).
- Experience with simple measurement and calibration tools required (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
- Experience with inspections and audits in some capacity required (e.g., welding inspections, pressure testing, hydro testing, HIPOT testing).
- Experience inspecting with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) preferred but not required.
- Experience with SAP, Windchill, and MS Office preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of metrology, materials, calibration, auditing, and inspection techniques with demonstrated ability to utilize relevant hand tools (micrometers, calipers, and other simple hand tools).
- High School Diploma, Vocational Education, or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
Schedule
This is an onsite role on 2nd shift (3:20 PM–11:30 PM) Monday through Friday.
Pay
The pay range for this position in Latham, NY is $20.91/hr. to $29.28/hr. A 10% pay differential is offered for 2nd shift.
