The Role

The Custom Manufacturing Truck Shop Supervisor is responsible for supervising a unionized work force in daily operations within a custom truck manufacturing shop. This role oversees technicians and supporting team members, ensures safety, quality standards and on time delivery metrics are met. The supervisor will coordinate labor, materials, equipment, and workflow while promoting continuous improvement and employee engagement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Pay & Benefits

Position offers a starting salary range of $95,000.00 - $121,000.00 USD Pay Offered Dependent On Knowledge, Skills, And experience

What You Drive At

At DTNA Production & Operations Leadership, you promote a zero-injury culture and ensure compliance with all safety policies, audits, investigations and procedures. Ensure all builds meet customer specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, support root cause analysis and corrective action activities. Execute production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements by monitoring workflow, staffing, and resource utilization. Coordinate with engineering, planning, service, sales, supply chain, and quality areas of CTS & DTNA. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Team Leadership

Supervise, coach, and develop production team members for flexible operations. Maintain time and production records including employee documentation for attendance, performance, scheduling, and labor allocations. Support employee training and cross-functional skill development. Maintain positive employee relations and team engagement.

Continuous Improvement

Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to improve safety, quality, and productivity. Track and improve key performance indicators (KPIs). Drive waste reduction and operational efficiency improvements. Support budget and cost control initiatives. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

Bachelors and 5-7 years of relevant experience, or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree, is required. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to use tact and diplomacy to exchange information, handle sensitive issues, and translate, simplify, and clarify information for employees. Experience reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions. Proven ability to lead and motivate diverse teams. An attached resume is required. Exceptional Candidates Might Have Knowledge of truck assembly processes and custom upfit operations. Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles. Root cause and practical problem solving. Experience using ERP or manufacturing execution systems.
