Product Purchasing Specialist

About the role

BigBadToyStore is an online-based toy store with a worldwide customer base, specializing in action figures, comic books, and other pop‑culture‑related material. The purchasing team handles accurate and efficient inventory management, vendor relationships, and compliant information. This role requires daily detailed analysis, invoice and report reviews, and clear internal and external communication.

Responsibilities

• Inventory analysis and management, including monitoring sales trends
• Price and reprice products to optimize inventory turnover
• Collaborate internally to support the overall buying strategy
• Develop and maintain positive vendor relations, confirming order fulfillment, addressing discrepancies, handling cancellations, and monitoring fulfillment schedule
• Place purchase orders via email, websites and vendor portals, monitoring vendor communication effectively

Requirements

• Proven experience in purchasing, inventory management, supply chain or a related field, preferably in eCommerce or retail
• Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Google Sheets
• Skilled in analyzing sales data, inventory trends and ensuring accuracy on orders, invoices and reporting
• Excellent written, verbal and listening communication skills
• Proficient computer and keyboarding skills
• Ability to resolve issues and manage change
• Positive and upbeat attitude; fostering pride in being a part of BBTS!
• Ability to multi‑task and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced team environment and adapt to changing priorities

Schedule

Onsite hourly position Monday through Friday. Two shifts available: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
