PURCHASING SPECIALIST

About the role

To work with staff and suppliers to source and supply requests. To review requests to ensure sourcing strategy aligns with UAB guidelines, policies, and strategies. To provide guidance in purchasing, resolve service issues, and cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and customers. To ensure reasonableness and accuracy of information through analysis, audit, and/or benchmarking, along with managing day-to-day administration for purchases and/or payables activity in an accurate and timely manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and five (5) years of related experience required.
• Work experience may substitute for education requirement.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in purchasing in a higher education setting or large institution/business.
• Overall understanding of buying, bids, and customer service skills.

Pay

Salary Range: $50,050 - $51,552

Schedule

• Shift: Day/1st Shift
• Work Arrangement: Onsite (final schedule to be determined by the department/hiring manager)
