About the role
The Product Manager is responsible for managing, optimizing, and growing ChemPoint product lines in alignment with supplier investment, objectives, and ChemPoint’s strategic aims.
Responsibilities
- Act as liaison and primary ChemPoint contact for suppliers; understand and leverage supplier partnership opportunities while packaging and presenting sales data to set and manage supplier expectations.
- Analyze sales results, leads, and opportunities information pertaining to product lines and provide direction to the marketing team for campaign strategy.
- Build product line plans and coordinate internal strategies that incorporate supplier and internal objectives; ensure alignment by implementing and monitoring sales execution, providing product line training, and offering first-line support on pricing issues.
- Work with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to plan monthly/yearly projections for sales and procurement based on knowledge of the customer base and industry.
- Collaborate with Market Developers on the learnings and results of all demand generation activities (phone activities, supplier leads, web leads, etc.).
- Travel approximately 20–25% as needed for customer engagement, team meetings, and industry events.
- Mentor interns by providing projects and tasks to assist relevant business areas.
- Align behavior and actions with ChemPoint culture by showing energy, promoting change, initiating innovation, leading with courage, and fostering a fun work environment.
- Demonstrate interest in industry and global trends.
- Exhibit job competencies and remain accountable for performance in your area of responsibility.
- Perform other related duties as required or requested.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience.
- Experience in a business-to-business sales organization, preferably as a Market Developer, or 5+ years of equivalent technical sales experience.
- Experience and strong knowledge of using PC and Windows OS.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Consultative selling skills.
- Versatility in interacting with customers, suppliers, and outsourced relationships.
- Excellent communication skills, including telephone proficiency.
- Knowledge of ChemPoint products, services, and the industries served.
- Problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
- Customer and territory management experience.
- Understanding of pricing and marketing strategy.
- Familiarity with ChemPoint IT applications; XRM database experience preferred.
Location
This is a hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA or The Woodlands, TX.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $113,920 – $142,400 annually. The specific salary offered may be influenced by factors such as relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
