Product Owner- TIS Software Developer

About the Role

The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) TIS (Track Identification Services) Software Development Team Product Owner (PO) will work as a member of the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Project Office (PO). The PO will be responsible for the prioritization and validation of development software for the TIS team, which handles identification and classification of tracks in the C2 (Command and Control) software.

The role includes reviewing and understanding Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms, and providing guidance to the development team. The Product Owner will work with Program Management to set priorities for capabilities and defects for each product increment and sprint. The position also involves technical briefings and advisement to leadership on status, recommended courses of action, competing capabilities, performance, risks, and impacts on the IFMC mission.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and validate software development for the TIS team.
• Review and understand Systems Engineering concepts, designs, and algorithms.
• Provide guidance to the development team on technical implementation.
• Work with Program Management to set priorities for capabilities and defects in each sprint.
• Attend code reviews and verify the team's work based on agreed-upon acceptance criteria.
• Conduct technical briefings and advise leadership on status, risks, and recommended courses of action.
• Collaborate directly with Agile software developers.

Requirements

• Good understanding of CID (Classification, Identification, and Discrimination) used in C2 systems, including IFF, ADS-B, Air Tasking Orders, and NCTR.
• Ability to provide oversight to the development team and verify work based on acceptance criteria.
• Active Secret Clearance.
• Fluency in the Microsoft Office toolset.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Bachelor’s degree (or advanced degree) from an accredited college (ABET preferred) in engineering, the sciences, or mathematics.
• Minimum of 10 years combined Government/DoD experience performing the essential duties listed above.

Qualifications (Preferred)

• Knowledge of IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS.
• Familiarity with current CID measures in one or more DoD services.
• Prior Product Owner experience on a SCRUM team.
