Product Owner/ Manager - ServiceNow contract to hire

About the role

Vega Consulting Solutions is hiring a Product Owner / Manager with ServiceNow experience for a 12‑month contract‑to‑hire position in Reston, VA. Candidates must be eligible for direct hire and reside within a commutable distance to Reston, VA. This is a W2 opportunity; agencies and recruiters need not apply.

Responsibilities

• Drive value by building, managing, and maintaining Product Backlog(s) in collaboration with IT teams based on magnitude, scope, and complexity.
• Represent the business to the team and define business value.
• Define details of what is being done and the overall scope of the project that builds the product offering.
• Ensure acceptance criteria are well‑defined.
• Shape product direction through feature creation, user story writing, and collaborative innovation via Joint Application Development (JAD) and brainstorming sessions.
• Lead definition of Product Backlogs working closely with Business Analysts, Architects, Technologists, SMEs, and business owners.
• Define the Product Roadmap and use it with the Product Vision to develop epics and features.
• Work with Business Analysts to create user stories that accurately reflect desired product capabilities.
• Build a Product Backlog and review it with business owners to determine business value and assign priority.
• Determine acceptance criteria and have authority to accept or reject development team deliverables.
• Remain accountable for the success of the product or component under purview.

Requirements

• Previous healthcare experience required.
• 4 years of Product Ownership experience.
• Recent ServiceNow CSM and ITSM experience.
• Advanced knowledge of business and management principles.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Advanced knowledge of project planning and life‑cycle development.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

Qualifications

Education in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

Alternatively, 6 years of experience in IT and business analysis, business development, solutions development, systems analysis, technical design/development, or implementation — or strong Product Ownership and ServiceNow experience.
