About the Role

This position provides product leadership, functional ownership, and delivery oversight for Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud applications. The role requires a strong functional background in Oracle HCM and the ability to represent business needs across HR, Payroll, and Benefits while partnering with technical delivery teams. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in Agile and Scrum methodologies, experienced with HRIS platforms—particularly Oracle HCM Cloud—and possess deep expertise in Payroll Systems and Benefits Administration.

Responsibilities

Product Ownership & Strategy

  • Serve as the functional owner for assigned Oracle HCM Cloud modules, including Core HR, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Management.
  • Define and communicate product vision, priorities, and roadmap aligned with institutional HR objectives.
  • Act as the primary liaison between HR stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, and leadership.
  • Evaluate Oracle quarterly updates, new features, and enhancements; recommend adoption based on business value and risk.

Backlog & Requirements Management

  • Elicit, refine, and prioritize business requirements for Oracle HCM enhancements and fixes using Agile and Scrum practices.
  • Translate business needs into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items in alignment with product goals.
  • Maintain and prioritize the product backlog to ensure delivery of the highest value features in an iterative, Agile environment.
  • Ensure alignment between delivered functionality and approved business requirements, leveraging HRIS best practices.

Delivery, Testing & Release Readiness

  • Collaborate with QA and delivery teams to support functional, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT) in accordance with Agile release cycles.
  • Review and validate completed work to ensure it meets acceptance criteria and Oracle HCM Cloud best practices.
  • Support release readiness activities for Oracle quarterly updates, patches, and major releases, including impact analysis and communication planning.
  • Communicate risks, dependencies, and release impacts to stakeholders across HR, Payroll, and Benefits functions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to resolve priority conflicts, scope decisions, and functional tradeoffs using Agile frameworks.
  • Provide regular status updates and product insights to leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment with HR strategy.
  • Ensure product decisions align with HR policies, compliance requirements, and institutional standards—including Payroll Systems and Benefits Administration regulations.

Deliverables

  • Product roadmap and prioritized backlog managed through Agile/Scrum processes.
  • User stories with acceptance criteria and traceability to business objectives.
  • Functional requirements and decision documentation aligned with Oracle HCM Cloud standards.
  • Release readiness and impact assessments for quarterly updates and major releases.
  • Stakeholder communications and status updates using Agile metrics and reporting tools.

Requirements

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience as a Product Owner supporting Oracle HCM Cloud, including Core HR, Payroll, Benefits, and Talent Management modules.
  • Strong functional knowledge of HR, Payroll, and Benefits business processes, with familiarity in Benefits Administration and Payroll Systems.
  • Experience evaluating and implementing Oracle HCM quarterly updates in an Agile or Scrum environment.
  • Proven ability to manage product backlogs, write user stories, and define acceptance criteria using Agile methodologies.
  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery teams, including Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business value.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms—especially Oracle HCM Cloud—is required.
